152-LUBE | Lubrication Working Demonstrator

Bayport Technical's Lubrication Working Demonstrator - Acrylic (152-LUBE) is an acrylic model showing three of the most common methods of using a static pool (reservoir) to lubricate bearings.

The unit is equipped with a variable speed motor, which allows the shaft to run slowly and at operating speeds. This allows students to observe the lubrication process as well as rotating equipment such as the shaft and coupling.

This centrifugal pump lubrication system enables you to see how the lube system works. The model visibly shows a slinger ring and bushing with a bushing ring picking up oil and applying it to the pump bearing and bushing. Bearing, slinger, shaft, and bushing are all visible to aid in identification and training. This model also visibly shows gear lubrication in an aluminum and clear acrylic housing. The pinion gear, driven by a DC motor, meshes with a bull gear. The pinion gear runs in oil and carries oil to the larger bull gear. All this is visible via a clear acrylic cover.

The drive motor is a 90 VDC permanent magnet direct current motor with a remote mounted rectifier controller. This controller will regulate speed control within 5% of nameplate RPM and provides full-wave rectification. This drive will provide 0.5 HP at 1725 RPM which is the rated nameplate RPM. Reduced HP is provided at less than nameplate RPM. A stop, clockwise or counter-clockwise 3-way toggle switch controls the shaft rotation. Either rotation will demonstrate the lubrication system. After the desired rotation is selected, a 0-100% speed knob is adjusted between 25-50% for normal lubrication demonstration. Full range adjustment can be made without damaging the unit. Both oil reservoirs have vents located at the top of each reservoir. The vents will prevent the reservoirs from being pressurized. In addition, this is the point where oil is added.

102-PDTM2 | Pump Working Demonstrator

Bayport Technical's Pump Working Demonstrator (102-PDTM2) is a see-through training model possessing many features which can be used to train operators on the workings of a centrifugal pump. By manipulating the suction and discharge valves and the RPM’s, students can demonstrate cavitation and other pumping phenomenon.

102-PDTM2C | Custom Dual Pump Working Demonstrator

Bayport Technical's Pump Working Demonstrator (102-PDTM2) is a see-through training model possessing many features which can be used to train operators on the workings of a centrifugal pump.

This training model has many features that can be used to train operators on the workings of centrifugal pumps. Cavitation and other pumping phenomena can be demonstrated by manipulating the suction, discharge valves, and the pump RPMs. Dual pumps allow the operator to run one in normal mode, while the other can show cavitation.

102-VT | Vacuum Working Demonstrator – Acrylic

Bayport Technical's Vacuum Working Demonstrator (102-VT) is an acrylic model that vividly demonstrates the effect of atmospheric pressure variations on fluids and gasses. A good example of atmospheric pressure variations is the boiling temperature of water.

102-WWT | Waste Water Working Demonstrator

Bayport Technical's Waste Water Working Demonstrator (102-WWT) is a training unit that is designed to provide maintenance and operations personnel associated with waste water treatment facilities a first-hand look at the workings and various methods of modern waste water treatment.

142-3PS | 3 Phase Separator Working Demonstrator – Acrylic

Bayport Technical's 3 Phase Separator Working Demonstrator - Acrylic (142-3PS) simulates the crude oil production process of separating water, oil, and gas before it is shipped to an oil refinery. This hands-on, see-through 3-phase separator training system continuously mixes air, water, and a hydrocarbon-based fluid that allows learners to understand the flow and gravity separation in this essential oil and gas industry application.

142-CT2 | Cooling Tower Working Demonstrator

Includes a heater and gauges. Oil refineries and petrochemical plants use water to cool down the high temperatures that are generated by the particular processes they use. This model is made of acrylic to allow full view of the water flow through the tower. This table top working model includes an induction fan, heater, circulation pump, mist maker, and tank.

142-FRT | Floating Roof Tank Working Demonstrator

This model demonstrates the dynamics of a floating roof and what is required to lift the roof in some of the tanks you find in today’s refineries and petrochemical plants.

132-DTT5 | Distillation Tower Working Demonstrator – Acrylic, with Reboiler, Rotameters

This model is a working model that demonstrates the operation of a distillation column using water and air. The water simulates the hydrocarbon liquid reflux, and the air simulates the hydrocarbon vapors (gas bubbles).

Water is supplied to the distributor and travels down through the structured packing, across the trays and downward through the downcomers to the water reservoir in the bottom of the stand. Liquid traveling downward comes in contact with the vapors (gas bubbles) traveling upward, thus allowing the cooler liquid to condense any heavy compounds out of the lighter vapor stream. Air travels up through the holes in the trays and is vented out the top to the atmosphere to maintain a flow and relieve pressure.

132-DTT6 | Distillation Tower Working Demonstrator – Acrylic, with Reboiler, Chimney Trays

Bayport Technical's Distillation Tower Working Demonstrator - Acrylic, with Reboiler, Chimney Trays (132-DTT6) is similar to the Distillation Tower Working Demonstrator - Acrylic, with Reboiler, Rotameters (132-DTT5), except this unit has two distributors, super frac and chimney trays, only random packing (no structured packing), panel mount valves instead of rotameters, and relocation of the mock reboiler.

The 132-DTT6 includes the following: base with reservoir, two distributors, two super frac trays, two sieve trays with downcomers, chimney tray, valve tray with downcomer, bubble cap tray with downcomer, random packing, centrifugal pump, three panel mount valves, reboiler, and an air compressor.

132-FCCU | Fluid Catalytic Cracking Working Demonstrator – Glass

This model consists of a reactor, generator, standpipes, risers, and an air blower that forms the catalyst circulation system. The catalyst flow is controlled by the valves on the reactor and regenerator standpipes. Circulation fluidizing of the catalyst is achieved by injecting air into the air inlet of the regenerator, the steam inlet of the stripper, and the feed inlet to the reactor riser. It is controlled by three individual needle valves.

Evaluations of start-up, operation, and shut down procedures in these units can be invaluable to educators, as demonstrations of catastrophic events may be safely simulated.

The unit includes the following: reactor, regenerator, standpipes, risers, air blower, and stripper.
