DAC Worldwide’s Wrap-Spring Clutch Sample (200-2203) depicts a modified industrial in-line, wrap-spring-type clutch for mechanical drive training in a classroom or laboratory. This mechanically-actuated example has been restored and modified using a custom-made acrylic stop collar, which unveils the principle of operation. The full-size, fully-detailed learning aide gives learners a first-hand view into a component that is found in various applications worldwide.

This mechanical clutch cutaway has been restored and cut away, allowing visualization of collar adjustment and the effect of change from clockwise to counterclockwise rotation. The device is mounted on a modular, heavy-gauge steel baseplate and support assembly, and it can be mounted on related DAC Worldwide benches, workstations, displays, and storage products.

All operational features have been retained, allowing for disassembly, reassembly, and basic maintenance training. Through carefully planned sectioning, the complete internal configuration of the wrap-spring clutch is exposed and showcased, allowing for convenient classroom training in the operation, construction, and maintenance of these common pieces of mechanical equipment.

Enhance Training with Hands-On Cutaway Industrial Components

This Wrap-Spring Clutch Sample provides a realistic training introduction to industrial wrap-spring clutches, which will make introductory courses in clutch maintenance and operation more productive, realistic, and memorable for learners. The wrap-spring clutch components are industrial-grade, mimicking what students might encounter on-the-job.

The cutaway features a 13-gauge, formed-steel baseplate with provision for benchtop, workstation, and storage rack mounting, and possesses the ability to be removed from the baseplate for convenient classroom use. The sectioning and restoration of actual industrial in-line clutch enhance students’ hands-on learning and visual comprehension.

Finally, the cutaway and its components are cleaned, primed and painted using a high-endurance urethane coating, providing durability to stand up to frequent use.

Expand Training with Additional Mechanical Model Options

The Wrap-Spring Clutch Sample is only one of DAC Worldwide’s expansive mechanical training cutaways, including the Fluid Coupling Cutaway (200-2082), the In-Line Friction-Type Pneumatic Clutch Cutaway (200-2202), the Centrifugal Clutch Cutaway (200-2204), and more!

Optional Student Training Manual and Textbook Available

A copy of this course’s Student Training Manual and Handbook are available with the clutch cutaway. Sourced from the Exercises and Learning Activities, the Student Training Manual takes the technical content contained in the learning objectives, and combines it into one perfectly-bound book. The handbook, called IPT Industrial Trades Handbook, presents clear objectives and performance standards for learners. If you would like to inquire about purchasing additional Student Training Manual or Handbooks for your program, please contact your local DAC Worldwide Representative for more information.

Advanced Manufacturing Skills TrainersOur learning programs develop job-ready skills that have been proven time and again. Take a look at how we can help you be successful!

Colleges are challenged to offer courses whenever students are available – and frequently, wherever they are available. Students want courses that are available on campus as well as from home while also providing strong hands-on skills for the technology demands facing them. Meeting these demands is no small task.

Amatrol has learning programs that allow colleges to excel in this demanding environment. We offer a full range of learning systems, both in a traditional equipment lab setting as well as in a virtual lab, that meet and exceed students' expectations.
